OVER 100 YEARS OF TRADITION
QUEEN OF THE FURROW
The Lambton Queen of the Furrow Program is a two-year reign for young women ages 19-25 years old. The program is an excellent way for young women to get involved in the agricultural community while building valuable leadership and life skills while networking with other young women from across Ontario.
The competition consists of four components: a speech on an agricultural-related topic, an interview, deportment and plowing ability. Experience in plowing is an asset but is not required. Contestants who have never plowed before will be supplied with a coach, tractor and plow for the day of the competition. All components of the competition will take place in one day.
The winner will be crowned Lambton County Queen of the Furrow at the banquet on the evening of the match. She will represent Lambton County Plowmen’s Association at the International Plowing Match for the following two years and other local events.
